Los Angeles Rams fans!!! Are you ready for your week 9 preview of our up and coming game? You better be, cos it’s the Saints and they’re coming for us and they’re flying !!!
This weeks match up sees us in New Orleans against the Saints who currently sit top in their division with a 6-1 record. The Saints have won their last 6 games in a row and look outstanding right now.
In recent weeks they’ve had good wins against strong teams like the Redskins, Ravens and Vikings, and their only loss came in week one to the Buccaneers. All this and they were missing one of their HB’s Mark Ingram for the first four games (More about him later).
Since Ingrams return (and just before) they have looked formidable and many have them tipped as real Super Bowl contenders. BUT! Enough about the past now on to this weeks game and my two cents on it……
Players to look out for
Drew Brees. QB
Again this week we go up against one of the best QB’s to ever play the game. Stat wise he can compare to any and also has a super bowl ring to boot. Brees right now has the Saints flying and just last week I watched him carve up the Vikings defence. Brees is a sure-fire Hall of Famer and at the moment he’s playing his very best stuff even this late in his career.
Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. HB
Thunder and lightning, literally!!! These two are going to continue to give defences fits. It’s got to be the best one-two punch in the league right now. Ingram is the powerful runner who will get you the tough yards, And don’t sleep on his speed either. Kamara is the burner but also a tough runner. This is a match made in heaven (if you’re a Saints fan) and these two can get you in so many ways, Screens, jet sweep, the list goes on.
Michael Thomas. WR
OK, you know this guy is good, don’t you? I’m telling you he’s much, much better than that! This guy is one of the emerging talents at WR, and in the near future, I believe this guy could be a top-five talent in the league. He’s only 24 years old and the ceiling looks to be very high. Our secondary will be strongly tested by this guy.
Cameron Jorden .LE.
One of the premier pass rushers in the league. He’s top five in my book, and I remember him getting to Goff a couple of times in our meet up last year. Rob Havenstein (our RT) really has his work cut out in this one, and might not block a better pass rusher this season.
Marshon Lattimore. CB.
In only his second season in the league Lattimore has already become a stand out cornerback. After a rookie season which was hindered with some injuries Lattimore is now standing out at his position, and it’s easy now to see why the Saints took him in the first round.
My final word on this game.
This is a mouthwatering matchup this week and we might not play a better team this season. The Saints are an offensive powerhouse who will put multiple points up on any team right now. The Saints also have the luxury of being able to beat you on the ground and through the air, and Brees also has a good offensive line keeping him upright. In my opinion the best offence is a balanced offence and that might be the Saints greatest strength. The defence isn’t too shabby either. The defensive line is strong and will get after Goff, but if there is an area the Saints would like to strengthen it’s the linebacker core, also the secondary has some holes and hopefully, Goff and co can exploit them…
My score prediction is, well my heart says 31-28 win for us Rams but we haven’t played a team as good as this yet this season, so my head says 31-28 Saints. It’s a tough one and you’re gonna have to pick one, Head or Heart?… And that’s my two cents…
