Hi again Los Angeles Rams fans and welcome to your weekly preview of our up and coming game.
This week’s matchup see’s us in San Francisco with a big rivalry match against the 49ers. The 49ers currently sit at the bottom of our division with a 1-5 record so it’s safe to say their season isn’t going the way they planned. Unfortunately, they have been hit hard, with injuries and the loss of starting running back Jerick McKinnon for the season during the preseason. Then they were dealt another big blow when their franchise Quarterback whom they signed to a big contract in the offseason went down with a season-ending ACL injury in week three against the Chiefs. To be fair to the 49ers, in the three games since losing Jimmy Garoppolo they haven’t played bad and in two of those games, they only lost by three points or less. C.J. Beathard will be under centre for them at Quarterback now and as a young QB in this league himself, he will see this as an opportunity for him to step up and lead this team… Now back to this week’s game…
Players to look out for
C.J. Beathard QB
Hasn’t played bad at all since starting for the 49ers in week four. He is complemented with some decent wide receivers and a good offensive line. Look for this young QB to make the most of this opportunity.
Running back by committee. Expect to see anyone of: Alfred Morris (to pound the rock) Raheem Mostert (More speed and agility) Matt Breida (Decent all rounder)
Pierre Garcon WR
This wily veteran has been a little banged up with injuries but when fit he’s the best hands on the team.
Joe Staley LT
The 49ers have a very decent offensive line and this guy is one of the reasons. Staley one of the best blindside blockers in the league.
DeForest Buckner DT
A real up and coming defensive lineman and in only his third season. Look for this guy to get after Goff relentlessly.
Reuben Foster MLB
Again a terrific young talent. Foster is in only his second season but has already become a stand out talent smack bang in the middle of that defence.
Richard Sherman CB
A free agent pick-up in the offseason Sherman still has plenty tread left on those tires. He’s another guy who’s had some injury problems this year but seems to be getting back on track. Still a top corner.
My final word on this game.
In recent weeks the 49ers have run good teams like the Chargers and Packers very close and this very easily could be a team with a 3-3 record like the Seahawk’s and like that Seahawks game we played the other week there were playing in their house…
Injuries unfortunately happen and ourselves will be without Cooper Kupp (Wide receiver) for this game out with an MCL strain. He could be out for a few weeks but like Aqib Talib (Corner Back). We should have them both back before the end of the regular season. In some good news on the injury front for us, this week will see the return of Gregg “the leg” Zuerlein our Kicker J……with all that said I think we’ll see a closer game than some might think and I predict a 31-21 win for us Rams…….. Rob.
